Mighty Megawatt

The

Your roommate throws his arm around you shoulder and looks far off into the distance. He then says, in the most dramatic, over-the-top voice you’ve ever heard, “Once, a mild-mannered kid, straight out of college, trying to make a life for himself in New York City. But after a freak accident which granted him superhuman abilities, his life was forever changed. Now, with a pure heart and a thirst for justice, Wayne Watson will take to the streets, bringing the fight to the wrongdoers, defending the innocent and hindering evil wherever it may lie!” He then looks at you and buries his pointer finger into your chest. “You can be the hero, man! You can be super!”

A short story by

L. Whit

Wayne Watson, a recent college graduate and a sufferer of student loan debt, moves to New York in search of a new profession and a new life.

Gerry Goldberg, Wayne's comic obsessed man-child roommate, is with him every step of the way.

And a corrupt billionaire, focused on nothing other than money and power, rules the streets.

However, one incident threatens to change it all. When Wayne gets caught in an accident which grants him inhuman strength and abilities, he will take justice into his own hands as a superhero. But there's one slight issue: Wayne is completely numb from head to toe.

Join the "Mighty Megawatt" on his masked crusade in this second-person satirical take on the hero genre.
